The earthquake has caused widespread devastation, and the people of Turkey are in urgent need of our help. As Muslims, it is our duty to support those in need, to lend a helping hand, and to show compassion and kindness to those who are suffering. The Quran teaches us that “whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity” (Surah Al-Maidah 5:32). This is a powerful reminder of our responsibility towards our fellow human beings, and it is a call to action for us all. Al-Wahab Foundation has been working tirelessly to provide relief and support to the people affected by the earthquake in Turkey. Our Chairman, Mufti Abdul Wahab, recently travelled to Turkey to distribute emergency relief aid to the victims of the earthquake. He distributed 500 food packs, which will help 500 households with food for the next few weeks. These food packs contain essential items such as rice, flour, lentils, oil, and sugar, which will help the families to sustain themselves until they can get back on their feet. As we reflect on the devastation caused by the earthquake, let us remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said: “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever” (Bukhari). This beautiful hadith reminds us that we are all interconnected, and that we must show compassion and kindness to our fellow human beings, especially in times of crisis.
