Seven Sisters - Climb for Clean Water: Mission Accomplished

Al-Wahab Foundation, while striving to bring clean drinking water to communities in Pakistan, organised the Seven Sisters Challenge - Climb for Clean Water on 7th September 2025. This hike aimed to fundraise for water hand pumps and help those suffering from water scarcity in Pakistan. This event encouraged 30 participants to be a part of the mission and climb to make a lasting impact. The young participants ensured that they turn this physically challenging activity into a blessing for those who have been risking their lives due to unsafe water.

Walking Together for Change

The target set to fundraise for water hand pumps through this hike was £150 per participant, which is the cost of one water hand pump. However, our passionate participants practically demonstrated that coming together for a purpose should reap tangible results, leaving a lasting impact. Through the Al-Wahab Foundation's Seven Sisters Challenge event, they have together raised over £5,500 and are on track to reach £6,000. The amount fundraised by the hikers will be allocated to install 40 hand pumps in the areas where a clean water source is needed the most.

Seven Sisters Hike Experience

The Hike Experience

The Seven Sisters is famous for its dramatic white cliffs, breathtaking hills, and endless sea views. However, the hike on these cliffs was physically demanding. While our group enthusiastically took on this challenge, some of the steep paths turned exhausting and tested the willpower of the participants.

The team faced all kinds of hurdles; from unpredictable weather to making sure everyone had the right gear, enough food, and safe travel arrangements. The climb signified how many walk miles every day to fetch water to fulfil their basic needs.

Despite the difficulties, the unity among the group members made it all a worthwhile challenge, as it turned into an everlasting memory with a big purpose behind it.

Thoughts about the Hike

The young participants enjoyed this thrilling experience and shared their thoughts about the hike as follows:

"The hike was very enjoyable and fun – I loved spending time with my brothers. It was quite tiring, but Alhamdulillah it was all for a good cause: helping people gain access to clean water."

– Amaan Shakeer, 16 years old

Another participant expressed his views as:

"An incredible journey for the sake of Allah and for an incredible cause. The warmth and brotherhood during the hike could only be expressed by the followers of Rasulallah ﷺ."

– Shahid Ali Suteria, 21 years old

Conclusion

Al-Wahab Foundation's Seven Sisters Challenge: Climb for Clean Water was more than a hike. The walk reflected how many people in underprivileged areas of Pakistan walk long distances every day to fetch water to fulfil their needs. It was a thrilling journey with the goal of serving humanity in the best possible way. Through this little effort, together we have raised funds to install 40 hand pumps in the areas where it is needed the most. The impact of this initiative will move on to generations, providing clean water access to every member of the society.
