Climb for Clean Water: Support Al-Wahab Foundation’s Seven Sisters Challenge

August 7, 2025

Water scarcity remains one of the most critical challenges faced by the people of Pakistan, making survival difficult for locals with every passing day. Nearly 70% of the population of Pakistan lacks access to clean drinking water, placing an alarming number of people at risk of waterborne diseases.

Addressing this urgent crisis, Al-Wahab Foundation, with a history of struggling to provide clean water access in deprived areas through water pumps and water wells installation, has once again taken action through its Hike for Clean Water – Seven Sisters Challenge.

This initiative is more than just a physical hike. It symbolises the long, arduous journeys many in underserved Pakistani communities cover daily just to access water that is often unsafe to drink. Your support towards our mission to provide clean water will help us save lives.

Why Join the Hike for Clean Water?

With breathtaking views of the Seven Sisters cliffs all around, imagine that every step you take with us is powered by the purpose of providing safe water access to those who otherwise walk for water miles every single day.

Through our Hike for clean water, together we can fundraise £150 each participant, the cost to install a single water hand pump in communities where people have been struggling with water scarcity for a long time.

Being a part of this venture is a way to show solidarity and give hope to deserving communities towards a better life where everyone can access clean drinking water.

Millions in Pakistan Lack Access to Clean Drinking Water

Making clean drinking water accessible to everyone is a fundamental human right. However, over 21 million people in Pakistan have been constantly dealing with water scarcity.

In underprivileged areas, most of the women and children have to walk miles to fetch water, often from unsafe sources, to meet their daily needs. Due to this lack of safe water access, their struggle increases and exposes families to waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid, and dysentery.

Over time, it leads to long-term health complications and, in many cases, even death. The water crisis in Pakistan is urgent, and it is also solvable. With you by our side, joining us for the Hike for Clean Water – Seven Sisters Challenge, we can bring about a positive and life-saving change.

Help Us Fundraise to Install Water Pumps in Underserved Communities

Every donation raised through the Seven Sisters Challenge goes directly towards funding installation of water hand pumps in underdeveloped areas of Pakistan. These water pumps are a lifeline, providing safe water access directly to the locals, reducing the daily burden placed on women and children.

Each participant of our Hike for Clean Water will aim to raise at least £150, the cost of installing one hand pump. That means every hiker can change lives with their efforts. You will walk for water to bring a change in the lives of those who have been forced to use unsafe water due to shortage.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The best charity is giving water to drink.”

([Ahmad])

This hike is your chance to contribute to make a positive change following the beautiful teaching of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, immersing yourself in the community spirit and planting the seeds of sadaqah jariyah that will benefit you in the Hereafter.

Real Impact: How Your Steps Can Provide Clean Drinking Water?

By participating in Al-Wahab Foundation’s Hike for Clean Water, you will make a real, measurable impact. For instance, if 10 participants each raise £150, that’s 10 water hand pumps funded. With 50 participants, we can provide 50 pumps, enabling us to reach entire communities with safe and clean water.

Your potential to make a significant difference and bring about positive change in society is a testament to your dedication to raising awareness about the global water crisis. Our Climb for Water and fundraising for water hand pumps initiative will not be a limited-time effort, but rather a lasting change that can benefit generations to come.

What You Will Be Supporting?

By coming together for Al-Wahab Foundation’s Hike for Clean Water Event, you’ll be directly supporting the Water for Life Project, through which we can install water hand pumps in the deprived areas. With your support, we will be able to provide access to clean water, ensuring that every member of these communities can benefit from it.

Our team in Pakistan carefully verifies and monitors the process, guaranteeing transparency and effectiveness. This Hike is your opportunity to walk with purpose and fundraise lasting water solutions.
