This Muharram gives the gift of life in memory of Karbala. As we recall the thirst and sacrifice of Hazrat Hussain (RA) and his family, Al-Wahab Foundation is on the ground delivering freshly cooked meals and clean drinking water to those in dire need. Honour this sacred month by supporting our Muharram Appeal. Your Sadaqah and donations can provide hope, nourishment, and hydration to the most vulnerable.
Commemorating the Sacrifice of the Prophet’s Grandson
We, as Muslims, are all well aware of the story of Hazrat Hussain (AS) and how he sacrificed his life to safeguard the faith from the hands of cruel and unjust rulers. By extension, we all also know the kinds of tactics used against the Prophet’s beloved grandson in the Battle of Karbala, how he and his family were denied water and food for days, becoming victims of inhuman war crimes.
In the face of all those injustices, his faith persisted. So, to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice that Hazrat Hussain (AS) made, Muslims around the world donate food and water throughout the month of Muharram, especially in the first 10 days.

Remembering the Sacred Status of the Month
Even before the tragedy of Karbala, Muharram al-Haram held great spiritual significance. Coming just after Dhu al-Hijjah, it was the month when pilgrims returned home and war was forbidden. Deeds, both good and bad, held multiplied rewards and consequences.

Therefore, donating food and water during this sacred time carries immense spiritual value and reward. When we think of Karbala, we remember not just the sword, but the thirst. The same thirst millions face today.
Al-Wahab Foundation’s Work During Muharram
During Muharram, Al-Wahab Foundation doubles its efforts to provide food and water to underserved communities. Our Chairman, Mufti Abdul Wahab, personally oversees many of our Muharram food drives whenever possible.
This year, we aim to honour the month and the sacrifices of our Prophet’s descendants by distributing food and water to many more families in need.

How We Distribute Cooked Food and Water in Muharram?
Al-Wahab Foundation delivers freshly cooked meals to the most deserving families in underprivileged areas, where putting meals on the table is a daily struggle. In regions suffering from water scarcity, we install hand pumps and wells to provide easy and reliable access to clean drinking water.
During the sacred days of Muharram, our team also organises Sabeel water distribution points to serve those participating in processions, ensuring they stay hydrated while commemorating the sacrifices of Karbala.
Real-Life Story: Your Water Donation Changing Lives
“My name is Samarto, and I live in Rathododaro, a village with around 40–50 houses. I’m the only breadwinner for my family, which includes my two sons and two daughters. Life has been difficult, and one of our biggest challenges was the lack of clean drinking water. We had to fetch dirty water from 2–3 kilometers away, which often made our children and animals sick. With no nearby hospital, this was a constant worry for us.
We are very thankful to Al-Wahab Foundation and Mufti Abdul Wahab for installing a hand pump in our village. It has made a huge difference in our lives. We now have clean water for drinking, washing, and our daily needs. Our whole village is happier and healthier because of this. May Allah bless Al-Wahab Foundation for this kindness and for bringing hope to our community.”
This is just one of many lives you can transform when you donate in Muharram 2025.
